Integrity Pro 12.12: Certificate Checks and Lazy-Load Detection

Peacockmedia released Integrity Pro 12.12.0 on 21 April 2026, the most feature-focused update to the Mac link checker since early 2025. It changes how the app treats websites with invalid security certificates and teaches its crawler to find lazy-loaded images and videos that it previously missed. For anyone who builds or maintains websites, including students running a portfolio, a society site or a web development project, it makes scan results noticeably more complete.

What's new in Integrity Pro 12.12

Integrity Pro crawls a website, tests every link and image it finds, and reports broken links alongside SEO, sitemap and spelling checks. Version 12.12.0 made two notable changes to that crawl, according to the developer's version history.

Invalid certificates now count as bad links

If a link points to a server whose certificate is invalid, for example because it has expired, Integrity Pro now reports it as a bad link. That matters because visitors using a modern browser will usually see a security warning rather than the page, so the link is effectively broken for them even if the server responds. For situations where this is expected, such as testing a staging site before a certificate is installed, there is a new option on the Advanced tab to accept invalid certificates and carry on scanning.

Lazy-loaded images and videos

Many modern sites delay loading images until they scroll into view, often by placing the real file address in a data-src attribute instead of the usual src. Integrity Pro can now pick up images and videos referenced this way inside div tags, so they are included in the check rather than silently skipped. This behaviour depends on the existing option to check lazy-load images being switched on.

Several smaller releases have followed. Version 12.12.1 (May 2026) fixed problems with archiving pages during a scan, particularly when scanning a list of links, and with including PDFs in generated sitemaps. In September 2026, 12.12.3 removed a spurious warning about pages having more than one canonical tag and added guidance for common problems, and 12.13.0 split the option that flags missing link URLs into separate settings for href="#" and empty href values.

Earlier, in June 2025, version 12.11.1 improved how the app handles URLs wrapped in curly "smart" quotes, a common side effect of pasting from a word processor. These are now flagged clearly as smart quotes rather than as an unhelpful URL error.

Why it matters for students

• Web development coursework. Before submitting a multi-page site for assessment, a full scan shows every broken internal link, missing image and redirect problem in one report, which is much quicker than clicking through by hand.
• Portfolios and CVs. A portfolio that links to old projects, GitHub repositories or hosted demos can quietly break over time. The new certificate check catches demo sites whose certificates have lapsed, which a simple status check would miss.
• Modern front-end frameworks. If your project uses lazy loading for performance, the data-src support means the checker now sees the same images your visitors do.
• SEO and accessibility learning. Pro's SEO tables, sitemap generation and alt-text warnings are useful for marketing and digital media modules where you need evidence of a site audit.
• Proofreading at scale. The built-in spellchecker covers every page of a site, which helps when a society or club website has been edited by many people.

Requirements and upgrade details

• The developer's Integrity Pro page lists macOS 11.5 or later on Intel or Apple silicon for the current version. Users on macOS 10.14 or 10.15 are directed to version 12.11.1.
• For customers who bought directly, 12.12 is part of version 12 and Peacockmedia says existing licence holders can simply download the current version. Mac App Store purchasers receive it as a normal free update.
